Who are our courses for?
Our courses will be of interest not only to those wishing to train as professional counselors but also to those in the helping fields, such as nursing, teaching, clergy and also in management. Completion of our Certificate and Diploma programs which offers over 300 hours of taught-work and 350 hours of hands-on counseling experience, more than meets the training requirements for counselors in Sri Lanka. Please do note, however, that there is no governing body for counselors in Sri Lanka. There is no Government Authority that issues licensing for professional counselors in Sri Lanka. There are, however, private organizations that do so, for their students. The Wellness Center awards Certificates and Diplomas.
If you wish to be in private practice, it is within the ethical framework of any professional to be sufficiently qualified and registered (as a sole proprietor/partnership/limited liability company) with the Sri Lanka government, according to its laws.
